Rio slams Mou’s claim
The war has just begun. As the English Premiere League has started its first match, Manchester United veteran defender Rio Ferdinand hit back at Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho’s statement that doubts if David Moyes’ side will be a strong contender for Premier League title race.
Mourinho, former Real Madrid manager, claimed that both Manchester United and its nosy neighbor Manchester City didn’t deserve the Premiere League title in the past two seasons.
Saturday (17/8), Manchester United won 4-1 against Swansea City, despite not-so-good results in some pre-season matches.
Ferdinand said that his side is professional and wants to win.”You don’t appreciate it when people don’t put you in the position you should be,” he added.
He said that it seems that people would have expected that United would have started with zero points, adding that there would have been lots of noise if they had lost.
Meanwhile Jose Mourinho’s men also won 2-0 against Hull City at Stamford Bridge, thanks to goals from Frank Lampard and Oscar, giving Mourinho the first victory in his Premiere League’s comeback.
